Moving across the world to serve coffee in the biggest watch shop in Europe
No seriously, that's my story.
New beginnings
About 6 months ago I decided to apply to a few jobs in London, because: Why not? Most of these consisted of Junior Programmer or Finance Intern, however one was more of a passion project… Luxury Watch Specialist, now that sounded good to me as an avid watch nerd and Hodinkee viewer. Though as it turned out, knowing what watch Jeffery Fowler wore most in 2022 was not enough to persuade them, and so, 5 months later I packed my bags and flew over 20 hours to London with one goal in mind, to convince them that I was the right man for the job.
(Spoiler alert: this was a lot easier said than done.)

1. So what now?
I realised that this passion for wrist-watches wasn’t going to just go away and that I hadn’t flown across the world to serve coffee on Regent Street. This meant that I had two options, stay or go.
2. My decision:
If you are reading this then I no longer work at said company and have taken another job that gives me both enough time and money to write this newsletter. Although I’m writing this as a passion-project, I’m hoping that those of you who enjoy my writing will support me in any way you can.
3. This newsletter:
I will be posting once a week, every Monday. These posts will range from interesting watch releases to independant watch designers that deserve some spotlight. For you watch nerds who just want a place to hang out and meet other likeminded individuals, welcome to WristCheck!

4. Got any feedback?
If you have any topics you’d like to see me write about or have some feedback about or ideas about my writing. Get in contact. Send me an email and tell me what you think.
